2018 will mark the 8th year for Team Sprockets. We work together in unison like the gears on a bicycle (or like a dancing Dieter in a black leotard if you prefer) to battle this terrible disease. Cancer "Survivor-ship" begins the day a person hears the life changing words of their diagnosis. Norwalk Hospital, Whittingham Cancer Center, Mission, and the CT Challenge all work together like sprockets and gears to help patients at different phases of their journey. Whittingham Cancer Center and Norwalk Hospital are now aligned with the Sloan Kettering Cancer Treatment center and methods to give patients world class weapons in this battle. Mission is there to help the recovery process to heal the whole patient with nutrition and fitness.
Team Sprockets will be out fundraising to support Mission and Norwalk Hospital until our ride date of July 28th. Please join us by signing up for the ride or with a donation. We prefer the former but will take the latter. Your gift will help cancer survivors of all ages in so many ways - from summer camp for children to college for teenagers and confidence-building adventure trips for young adults to the groundbreaking Mission Training Center and the exercise, nutrition and community-building programs incubated there and shared throughout the U.S. to help all who battle cancer reclaim their lives.
The programs funded by the CT Challenge Ride were renamed Mission in 2017 to better position them as a flagship for cancer survivors everywhere. Mission exists to inspire everyone who has stared down cancer to live a fuller life, with newfound strength and purpose. There are no limits. See more at yourmission.org
